A static editorial website

This website provides project information and educational articles. The supplied website code does not contain analytics, advertising trackers, forms, account registration, embedded third-party media, or cookies. It does not store information in your browser’s local storage.

All website images, stylesheets, and JavaScript are served locally from this domain. Following an external reference takes you to a different website with its own policies.

Hosting and connection information

The hosting provider may process ordinary request information, such as IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information, and timestamps, to deliver and protect the website. The website code does not control the provider’s logging or retention settings.

The countdown

The tentative target is 10 November 2026 at 00:00 UTC. The timer uses your device’s clock and performs its calculations in your browser. It does not contact a release-status service. After the target passes, it displays that the target has passed and a release is still unconfirmed.

Project status

WebKrab is an upcoming open-source crawler. Code development will begin soon. The features described on this website are planned design goals; no crawler implementation, source repository, license selection, download, or support inbox is announced here.

Using the field notes

The articles offer general technical education. They do not provide permission to crawl any website or reuse its content. Respect access controls, publisher rules, applicable terms, and legal obligations. Seek appropriate guidance when a project involves personal or restricted data.

Images and identity

The blue crab and ocean-current artwork are original AI-generated illustrations created for WebKrab. They are illustrative brand imagery. The blue crab logo and icons are original vector artwork.

Changes

This page should be revised when the deployed website’s data practices or the project’s release status change.
